A Pygmy killer whale was found stranded off Longboat Key, East Coast on Tuesday.

The passersby phoned the local Mote Aquarium. "They gave us instructions not to try to move it and that they would get here ASAP," the filmer said. "Until they arrived, passersby kept the whale wet."

In total, the rescue lasted a couple of hours. The whale, a male named Bolt, has been reunited with his pod.

We awoke to find this whale at 7 AM on Tuesday 4th September, 2018 and phoned the Mote Aquarium on Longboat Key. They gave us instructions not to try to move it and that they would get here ASAP. Until they arrived, passersby kept the whale wet.
The whole rescue took a couple of hours and a friend of mine, Ralph Knox filmed the who episode. We have since learned that the whale is a male, has been named Bolt, and has been reunited with his Pod at Mote where they have two females, who were rescued on the 30the August in Clearwater, Florida.
