This dog's owner must wish he found a more secure place to tie up his four-legged friend.

The pooch was spotted making a break for it on a corner shop's CCTV camera with an advertising board in tow.

Ronald Yule – whose family owns Kat's Corner Shop in the town of Hawick in the Scottish Borders – writes: "Customers often tie their dog to the moveable Kenco advertising sign outside the store.

"On this occasion, this dog decided to run away with the sign still attached.

"The dog was found safe back home around one mile away."

Yule adds that this is not an isolated incident.

"It has actually happened a number of times," He says. "Both the signs we had outside eventually snapped as dogs kept running away with them.

"The signs are no longer there due to this, so there haven’t been incidents recently."
