The 15,000-acre Delta fire in Shasta County, California, continued to burn on September 6, forcing evacuations and shutting down a main highway as firefighters fought to contain the blaze.

This video, filmed on September 5 at around 2 pm, shows vehicles driving along Interstate 5 before the highway was shut down on both lanes. The fire, burning dangerously close to it, saw drivers asked to leave their vehicles behind as the flames encroached.

Officials said human activity is involved in the starting of the fire, but no further information is available.
