Russian police arrest protesters at rally against Putin’s pension reform plan

Hundreds of people rally across Russia today against Vladimir Putin’s plans to raise the retirement age.

The footage, captured this morning (September 9), shows a group of riot police detaining protesters at a square in Yekaterinburg city and asking for proof of identity.

The filmer writes: ''People stood peacefully and nothing illegal was done.

''We were surrounded and kept in a cordon for more than an hour

.

''After that policemen start releasing people and required to show our passports.

''About 20 people were detained.

''Some people were not protesting and they were detained by the police as well.''
