Gracious Gateshead FC players thank travelling fans after away victory
Players from Gateshead FC were praised after they thanked travelling away fans at their win at Ebbsfleet FC.
Footage filmed after their 1-0 victory on Saturday shows the players shaking the hands of fans in the away stand at Stonebridge Road who made the 287-mile journey despite the late match being shown on TV.
The filmer, Gateshead supporter Dan Bell, wrote later online: "Little tradition the @GatesheadFC lads have at the end of every away game.
"Doesn’t matter if they’ve won, lost or drawn they’re always over to personally thank the fans that travelled. Something which they don’t have to do but know what it means."
The win means Gateshead jump to 8th in the National League, while Ebbsfleet drops to 13th.
