Over a dozen houses were damaged by the 6.4-magnitude earthquake that rattled Davao Oriental, a province in the Philippines located in the Davao Region in Mindao, on Saturday, September 8.

The quake struck at around 3:20 pm in the afternoon.

This video shows the scene inside ER Supermall in Mati when the tremors happened.

"'You can see from the video just how strong the earthquake was. We're thankful that all of the customs and the staff were safe and nobody was injured," the store manager said.

This was the terrifying moment a 6.4 magnitude earthquake knocked shoppers to the ground and sent items flying off supermarket shelves. The tremors hit the  ER Supermall in Mati in the Davao Oriental region on Saturday September 8 at 3:20pm in the afternoon. An elderly woman pushing a trolley and her husband were flung to the ground as tins of food fell down around the room. Panicked staff and seen running for cover as the quake rattled the building. The store manager said: ''You can see from the video just how strong the earthquake was. We're thankful that all of the customs and the staff were safe and nobody was injured.''
