A sleepy zebra pulls hilarious faces as it yawns early morning in South Africa's Kruger National Park.

"To see a zebra in the wild is always special," said the filmer. "But not many people could imagine what it looks like when a zebra suddenly starts yawning."

"It was really entertaining to watch and we were fascinated by just how many times this zebra actually yawned in ten minutes!"

It was during an early morning safari in the Kruger Park that we came across a small herd of zebras. We stopped to spend a little time with these magnificent animals. These unique creatures are always high on the list for most tourists visiting Africa on a safari holiday. Zebra and giraffe are rated as Africa’s most photographed animals and they are well known and loved all around the world. To see a zebra in the wild is always special, but not many people could imagine what it looks like when a zebra suddenly starts yawning. This specific zebra got my attention and I started filming it. At first it looked like this zebra was pulling funny faces at us in almost slow motion. It looked like it was screaming or shouting out something very important. Mouth opening slowly, then wide open with teeth and tongue out with lips flaring. It was really entertaining to watch and we were fascinated by just how many times this zebra actually yawned in ten minutes and not moving at all. It stood right still and it was just yawn after yawn. We stopped counting at nine yawns and honestly thought he was going to fall asleep standing at any moment. This was most likely the sleepiest and laziest zebra I have ever seen out in the wild.
