A miraculous rescue mission left a man 'incredibly lucky to be alive' after he was plucked from a freezing river after 90 minutes in the water. Daniel Scott, 35, found himself up to his neck in water and almost froze to death before being discovered unconscious and at risk of hypothermia in the early hours. His traumatic ordeal started when he was separated from friends after a night out in Lewes, East Sussex. But on the way home he jumped over a fence and went to relieve himself near the River Ouse where he found himself submerged in water in the pitch black.
