A Short film showing the devastating effects of mother nature, on the 2nd of March 2018 in Holyhead Marina, Storm Emma rolled into the UK and collided with the Beast From The East. The mixture of the two powerful weather fronts resulted in some of the worst weather the UK has seen in a long time.

In the early hours of Friday the 2nd of March the evidence of Storm Emma began to show as the daylight revealed the devastation to Holyhead Marina.

A rare easterly north easterly wind blew into the marina with waves of up to 8 ft high coupled with winds up to force 12 (80mph+) and spring high tides this was a recipe for disaster.

The yachting marina which sits encased the inner harbour protected by Holyhead Breakwater was torn through and destroyed in the dark of night as Storm Emma collided with the Beast from the east and was no match for the small marina, unfortunately up to 85+ vessels were either sunk or damaged as the sea did its damage.

Homes, businesses and peoples pride and joy were destroyed on that very night, the clean up is now well underway as ships are removed from the beach and rocks, polystyrene covers the small coves and beaches along with much more debris is now being contained and slowly removed.

Its now time to look forward from this disaster and to focus on a time were we can return this site to its former beauty. The spirit of the community will prevail and we can look forward to getting things back to how it once was.
