Florence was downgraded to a Category One hurricane on Thursday, September 13, posing a smaller threat but still bringing significant rainfall to the coast.

This video, filmed in Trent Woods, North Carolina, shows a resident's backyard completely inundated with floodwaters, forcing them to evacuate to higher ground.

According to local media, flood and storm surge warnings were in place. The National Hurricane Center reported that Morehead City, a port town north of Wilmington, saw a surge of 10 feet.

Forecasts warn of heavy rains the next few days as cities remained under a state of emergency.
