This is the stomach-churning moment a 10ft long python is caught and forced to regurgitate a rooster.

The snake was spotted strangling the bird after raiding the chicken coup at the home in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, southern Thailand.

Horrified farmer Supap Kotcha, 57, was too afraid to approach the serpent and ran back to call the emergency services.

They arrived a short time later to find the snake had already swallowed the rooster but dragged it out into the open where it was forced to spit it out.

Shaken Supap said: ''I was bringing cows to eat in the backyard. I heard the chickens making a lot of noise along the fence. I went to see. I was shocked.

''When I saw the snake, the chicken was still alive but the snake had strapped itself around it. I was afraid to help the chicken. I ran away and shouted to tell people to call the rescue staff to help.''

The dead rooster was buried in the grounds of the home while the python was put into a bag and released into the wild several miles away after the incident on September 5.
