Air Astana engine on fire

A shocking footage has emerged of “Air Astana” airlines’ plane Airbus A-320 engine catching fire with 99 people still on board. The incident took a place in Kazachstan’s Astana International Airport, on the 15th of Sptemebr, at 5pm.

Accordingly to the filmer, passengers of flight КС-982, going from Atyrau to Astana, noticed a smoke coming out of the left engine in a couple of minutes after landing.

He says: “..we could tell it was a problem however they didn't deploy the shoots from the other side of the plane and we had to watch through the windows in fear as a fire truck directed its water cannon on to the engine.”.

In the video you can hear pilot speaking: "Dear passengers, our left engine caught a fire,which was extinguished. However, the engine is full of smoke, so we are kindly asking you to stay calm and remain on your seats."


Passenger of terrifying flight also claims, that airport crew brought the gangway stairs to the other side of the vehicle and started the evacuation in approximately 10 minutes after the breakdown. He also says, that officials tried to stop victims from filming the during the whole walk to the terminal.

Accordingly to the press office of Air Astana airlines, nobody was injured. They also added: “As soon as our engineering team finds out the reason which caused the problem, the investigation will start”.


On the 1st of september, passengers on the board of Boeing 737-800 experienced very similar story. The plane of Utair airlines caught a fire in Sochi international Airport. No injuries were reported.

Earlier, on the 22nd of August, - people were evacuated from Red Wings Tu-204 in Ufa international airport, as the plane suddenly started to burst into flames.
