An elderly man and his pet dog were rescued after they got stuck in the middle of a flooded river in northern India.

The man and his pet dog were walking by the river Mashan in Chhatarpur on September 19 when they got stuck due to a rise in the water level.

Footage captured on September 20 shows the man stranded on top of an isle in the middle of the river as the rescue team arrives at the scene. His dog can be seen swimming to the shore.

One of the rescuers then plunges into the river with a float attached to a rope held by other members of the team standing at the shore. He then swims towards the isle to rescue the man.

The man then grabs the float and is towed to the shore safely.

An Old ageded person with his pet dog who went in the nearby feilds with his cattle got stuck in the middle of the River as their was a sudden flow of floodeed water due to opening of the Dams. Bhaag Pyarelal was trapped in the river Mashan of Ishanagar Police Station
The incident happened on 20 sept 4.30pm & Rescued him on 21 sept 7.00 am in Chhatarpur Madhya pradesh India
The team reached but the rescue was not successful due to the heavy water flow.The police and the rescue team said The water will reduce in morning as the gate of Ban Sujara Dam has also been closed.
After 15 hours the rescue team pulled out the Man from the river.
