Shenzhen, guangdong province, Sept. 22th. Six days after the "mangosteen", the five-kilometer Xiyong beach was almost completely destroyed, and many homestays on the shore were completely damaged and the damage could not be estimated.
On the beach, the storm's garbage can be seen everywhere, and furniture, appliances and kitchen utensils of various styles are brought out. Occasionally, a few stray dogs run by, their footprints all over the ground, and locals are not sure how they escaped the typhoon.
Power lines were knocked out by the typhoon and dropped on the road. If you're not careful, you may trip over them. Into this area, the mobile phone connect no signal, and almost lost contact with the outside world. According to the surrounding residents, after the typhoon came, the water and electric power here has been cut off, so far has not resumed.
The beach is lined with casuarina. This kind of tree can reach up to 30m, diameter up to 70cm, the tree trunk is straight, suitable for the loose sand growing on the coast, it is a good tree species in the coastal windbreak and solid forest in south China. But because "mountain bamboo" is too ferocity, the casuarina was connected to the root up, in a horizontal and vertical fall on the beach, some became the typhoon's "accomplices," crushing the surrounding buildings.
After the typhoon the beach is still closed. Stall owners began to worry: when will the ban be lifted? When will we be able to go in and start remodeling? What about our loss?
