A man suffering from Parkinson's disease took on terrifying 40ft waves to become the first to row 3,600 miles across the Indian Ocean earlier this month (September 14).

Robin Buttery, 47, has become the first ever Parkinson's disease sufferer to row across an ocean after completing the "life-changing" 70-day challenge.

Buttery rowed from Australia to Mauritius before his "body gave up" on him. Though accompanied by three veteran ocean rowers, he made the journey despite daily struggles with tremors, mild memory loss and limited physical strength, "forcing" his body to row for 70 brutal days.
