Strong winds and rains lashed Tokyo overnight through Monday, October 1, following Typhoon Trami's landfall in the Wakayama Prefecture in western Japan the day before.

This video, filmed in Koto City of the city capital, shows the lights seen through the windows of an apartment blinking off and on as the winds affected the ward's power lines. More than 180,000 homes and offices lost electricity that evening, media reported.

Trami left two dead after one was engulfed by a landslide in western Japan’s Tottori and the other drowned in high waters in Yamanashi, west of Tokyo. Over a hundred have been injured, and tens of thousands evacuated ahead of the storm.
