Elephants play tug of war with palm leaves
This was the adorable moment an elephant repeatedly teased a friend with palm leaves.
Anand Narayanan, 38, and his friend Kesavan, 28, were feeding at an elephant camp owned by the Guruvayur Temple Board in Guruvayur, Kerala, India.
They came across a slightly dried up bunch of palm leaves. A mock fight still broke out and both the behemoths tugged at the bunch staking their claim.
The smaller elephant conceded quickly and gave up its claim.
Anand Narayanan, got the prize but was not interested in eating it. So, he offered the bunch back to Kesavan. But as Kesavan lifted his trunk to accept it, Anand Narayanan, pulled the bunch back.
The offering and retraction went on for sometime and the caretakers of the elephants noticed it and had a good laugh over it.
“They are good friends and like to spend time with each other.
Guruvayur Temple Board keeps 49 elephants in its camp, the largest such facility in Kerala.
