A heart-warming video has emerged of a farmer helping an abandoned chick hatch from its egg.

In the footage, captured by the chicken farmer at her home in Charly, France late last month, the woman uses tweezers to gently peel the shell away from the tiny bird before placing it in an incubator.

The chick, which she named ‘Qom’ can then be seen fluffing its feathers and cheeping two hours after hatching.

According to the farmer, the egg had been abandoned by its mother and was rescued at the last minute.
