Husband marries terminally ill wife on hospital bed

Ariel Idul, 25, had been together with partner Rechie, 35, for seven years and they had scheduled a large church wedding for October last year but Rechie was diagnosed with a cervical Myoma.
The mother-of-three battled back from the illness and the couple dreamed of walking down the aisle when she was well enough. Tragically, in June this year she was diagnosed with stage three cervical cancer and taken to hospital Davao City, Philippines. The symptoms rapidly worsened and she was given just months to live.
The couple still dreamed of getting married and Ariel arranged for friends and family to attend the Southern Philippine Medical Center as a vicar performed the nuptials on August 27.
Rechie was too weak to sign her name of the paperwork - but instead made a thumbprint with ink.
Ariel said it was his wife's dying wish that they be wedded with their three children, aged 13, three and one all present at her bedside. His new wife died a few days later on September 2. But Ariel said she although passed away in sickness and pain, her heart was at peace knowing they were married.
The grieving father said: ''We did not plan to wed in the hospital, but we had no choice. There were days when Rechie couldn't even stand up because of the illness but I still wanted to make our dream of getting married come true, even if it wasn't perfect.
