London buildings near O2 Arena evacuated after 'security alert'
Hundreds of people were reportedly evacuated this afternoon (October 1) in southeast London following a security alert.
Videos shows scores of people being evacuated in the vicinity of the multipurpose O2 indoor arena.
The filmer wrote: "The O2, Ravensbourne University, and allegedly nearby buildings have been evacuated. Police on scene. Been outside for over an hour now."
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police told local media: "Police were called at approximately 1.59pm on Monday, 1 October to reports of a security alert at business premises on Pier Walk, SE10. Officers are in attendance. The building has been evacuated as a precaution."
