Poles rallied in the streets of Warsaw demanding the right of abortion, It is the fist time in the country when the protesters called for 'safe abortion' only, in occasion of the International Day for Safe Abortion, celebrated on September 28th.

Actions organized by feminist groups become more and more present in the Polish streets after a bill was presented to ban any kind of abortion in the country. The law project was finally rejected due to the unrest caused by the women rights movements.

The leaders of the demonstrations stated that "the debate about abortion has been going on for years but nothing comes out of it, and the reality is that every day many of us terminate their pregnancies".

The rally was called by the Womens Strike Warsaw, Abortion Dream Team, Workers Initiative, Association for Health Policy based on Science, Warsaw Antifascits and 8 March Womens Organization.
