This was the moment a family raided their unusual piggy bank and hundreds of coins came flowing out - from inside a wooden door.

Mother-of-one Cherry Torres, 24, and husband Jomar, 26, stashed their small change in the hard-to-find location by pushing the money from a small gap between the joints.

She said it was ''safer than a bank'' and that nobody would been able to steal the coins from their home in Cavite, Philippines.

But door became so heavy that it was weighing down on the hinges. Jomar finally broke it open on September 12 as their one-year-old daughter, Zian Asher, looked on excitedly.

Cherry will now use the savings, the equivalent of around 40gbp in total, for her daughter's future. But she's not using a savings account - instead she'll find an even more unusual piggy bank.

The housewife said: ''I don't have a bank account. We'll change the coins to paper bills and hide them in another place. It will be even more hard to find than the door. I think this is safer than a bank.''
