Commuters had to be careful where they put their hands - after this python wrapped itself around a train station handrail.

The 5ft long serpent was found on the rails inside the Ayala station of the Manila Metro Rail Transit System 3 in Makati City, the Philippines on October 2.

Commuter Lloyd Vincent Romero was there at the time of the incident.

He said: "The MRT station was about to open at 4:40 a.m. when we saw the snake, but the security guards were busy because the station was about to open so they could not deploy someone to remove. According to other people who were there, a man who tried to take the snake was bitten. I am not sure if he works for the train station."

A security guard who works at the train station said that no one was hurt by the snake.
