Stomach-churning moment doctor removes 15cm-long parasitic worm from man's eye
This is the disgusting moment doctors in India removed a large parasitic worm from a man's eye.
Dr Srikanth Shetty received the 60-year-old patient at a hospital in Kundapur, Karnataka, on October 8.
Footage shows the light-coloured worm nestled in the man's eye.
Dr Shetty carefully removes the parasite and places it in a plastic jar, where its 15cm-length is laid bare.
The worm is believed to be Wuchereria Bancrofti, a type of roundworm, that is spread via mosquito bites.
The doctor decided to operate immediately as the worm put the patient's eyesight at risk.
