Police car runs red light and causes serious collision
A policeman was caught causing a crash after jumping a red light as he was rushing to visit a friend.
Abdul Rahman was in a patrol car when he cruised through a junction while other vehicles waited in Manila, Philippines on October 12.
An oncoming car - that had the right of way - went through the green lights and smashed into the police vehicle.
Abdul was later given a dressing down by police chiefs. He said: ''We received a call from a fellow Muslim friend who needed urgent help.''
Police administrative officer Jeffrey Zaide in the Baclaran district said that a police car can only jump red lights in emergency situations.
He said: ''We do not tolerate the unlicensed use of the vehicles.''
