Kayaking with Dolphins
I kayak with dolphins, I meet this pod regularly, they are usually about 4-8 miles off Looe in Cornwall Cornish. They break the surface all around me and track me underwater too, you can see them clearly swimming below me, it can get crowded under the hull sometimes. One often swims upside-down looking up at me you can see him/her underwater near the front of my hull at one point. I had been out for a fair few hours when I met them, having filmed a little porpoise for a while (see below) I was needing to head back when I spotted some gannets feeding further out and a few more heading over to the same spot, some glimpses of light altered me to the presence of dolphins but they were a few miles off, I headed out to see them, circled round them and then paddled parallel with them, they came over to see me and we were together for a while but they were rapidly heading away from where I needed to get back to so I let them get on with their business. I am sure I will see them and the local minke whale again soon and upload more video.
Not included are a few short clips of a tiny porpoise who I have met quite a few times too. The file size limit meant chopping that off but it could be uploaded to make the complete story if needed. The little chap circled me while I was paddling for about an hour, it headed off when I went to see the larger pod but I met it again later on the way home. It seems to be a baby or at least very young, it looks like a hybrid between a harbour porpoise and a dolphin but I am not sure.
I can provide a voice over version of the video if needed.
