Low-Level High Speed Flying through Valleys in Wales (Mach Loop) - Fast Jet Training Area

Buy video

The Machynlleth Loop ('Mach Loop') is a set of valleys situated in Wales, UK which are frequently used for low level flight training by all sorts of aircraft. There are various vantage points throughout the valleys, one of the most popular being 'Cad West' - this is where we were. Aircraft fly as close as 250 feet (76 metres) from the nearest terrain! While we were there we saw and filmed the following - BAE Systems Hawk, McDonnell Douglas F-15, Lockheed Martin C-130J Hercules, Tucano and even a Panavia Tornado, as well as an Airbus A400M transport aircraft (unfortunately this didn't fly past Cad West, we only saw this in the distance).

This video was filmed on the 5th September 2018 at the"Cad West" spot in the Machynlleth Loop, Wales. ⛰
