The Southern White Admiral Butterfly Limenitis reducta is a striking insect, particularly when freshly emerged and it is often to be encountered in woodland clearings. When observed from certain angles the upperwings may be tinged with blue, giving rise to the French vernacular name of Le Silvain Azuré. This film shows one of these lovely butterflies taking its fill from a copious supply of Lavender Lavandula sp. nectar in the Ardèche, South of France.
