This Little Egret Egretta garzetta was rather easy to spot even in near darkness from the pedestrian bridge over the Mar Dyke in Purfleet for fairly obvious reasons! The fishing technique of using the yellow (or in this case mud-covered) feet to disturb or possibly feel for potential prey items may be seen to good effect from above.
