++CLIENTS PLEASE NOTE: THIS VIDEO HAS BEEN LOOPED++ Three people were stabbed, one fatally, following a car explosion in the Central Business District of Melbourne on November 9.

According to media, witnesses said they heard a loud explosion and saw a car burst into flames outside Target on Bourke Street, between Swanston and Russell Streets.

The assailant attacked three people before being shot in the chest by police and brought to the hospital in critical condition. 

Footage shows the stabbing scene cordoned off and armed police patrolling the streets in the area.

Victoria Police said there was no known link to terrorism.
