UK wave watcher gets drenched by mountain of white water

Gale force winds gusting up to 65 mph sent huge waves smashing into Penzance's promenade this evening (November 9).

The spectacular display of mountainous waves, known locally as 'Cornish Fireworks', brings many locals and visitors to the normally tranquil promenade.

The man in this clip got dressed up in wet weather gear to get an immersive experience with the sea.

He'd clearly done it before as he was wearing a helmet underneath the oilskins to protect himself from the stones that are thrown up by the powerful storm swells.
