November the 10th has been marked as the global day for Sundarbans. National Committee to Protect Oil Gas and Mineral Resources in Bangladesh has called to observe the day for Sundarbans to bring global attention and worldwide solidarity to save the forest. In solidarity with this call, we are going to observe the day in London on the 10th November, Saturday at 12 noon, Altab Ali Park, East London.

We have been fighting for long 8 years to stop Rampal coal fired power plant near the Sundarbans, the world’s largest mangrove forest in Bangladesh. Despite serious concern raised by the experts and people to the project, Government of Bangladesh is still going to implement the project. We need to strengthen our struggle and fight back locally and globally to stop this harmful power plant.
