This is the heartwarming moment a man holding hands with a woman plucked a passing balloon out of the air and handed it to her.

The incident, which has gone viral on Twitter where the video was first shared, shows the pink balloon drifting in front of the House of Fraser department store in Lincoln in England’s East Midlands.

The senior couple are holding hands and waiting to cross the road.

The man catches the string attached to the balloon and hands over to the woman, who takes hold of it.

Captioning the video, the filmer wrote: “It(’s) 2018 with a happy ending."

She wrote on Twitter: "Tried to make some joke about the ‘It' movie and then the sweetest old man came and made my day."

I was walking to work one morning when I got snapchat up to capture the balloon because it reminded me of the IT movie and it was funny. Then the man grabbed it for his wife and it was very cute.
