'Mommy help me!' Mass panic on Wichita school bus after driver tells 'disruptive' children they can't go home
Mass panic erupts on a school bus in Wichita, Kansas after its driver tells the group of apparently unruly children aboard that they won't be going home.
The kids run around inside screaming as parents attempt to reassure their children and one shouts: "Get my son off the bus now!"
One child hangs out of the window yelling, "Mommy, help me!"
The children attend Enterprise Elementary School in Wichita.
The filmer, a mother of one of the children on the bus, said that after the students became loud, she had been told that the driver yelled at them, telling them they are not going home and that they are going to stay in the bus all night.
Further footage shows the mother's husband calmly confronting a worker for the bus company.
"I'm a parent of a kid. Why are they stopping the bus?" he asks.
"We can't drive when they're screaming and yelling," the bus worker responds.
"Why were they screaming and yelling?" the father asks.
"I don't know," the bus worker responds.
At the end of the video, a police officer attends the scene and explains the bus company's policy.
The incident happened in Wichita, Sedgwick County on a bus operated by First Student bus company on November 9.
Local media reported that a letter sent home with Enterprise students said that the bus driver has since been removed from their post.
Local reports added that the school had talked to students "about proper behaviour" on the bus.
