Update
Northumberland County Communications Center dispatched a working commercial structure fire at 30 – 32 North Oak Street, Mount Carmel.
Background
While shoveling snow across the street and outside Hollywood Pizza and bakery Edward Stellar noticed smoke coming out of Mount Carmel Sports Cards and Collectibles at 30-32 North Oak Street. Mr. Stellar crossed the street and notified the occupants of the adjoining building Schicky’s Wings-N-Things of the impending fire. He then dialed 911 as he checked the rear of the structure where he found it to be fully involved with down power, cable, phone lines.
Mt. Carmel police confirmed a working fire as first responders rescued a woman and man.
Commander Milkulski mounted a defensive attack after a partial floor collapse in the heavy snow.

Mr. Stellar should be commended for opening his store and feeding the fire fighters and victims at his cost. Tony Scicchitano of Ace Hardware also opened his store to fire fighter to keep warm.

This fire is considered accidental in nature at this time.
Radio traffic stated the fire started near a heater.
