Damp & Black Mould making Asthma worse
I was first diagnosed with asthma when I was 30 years old. First was on a green inhaler, then the orange. By the time I was 32i was taking the purple inhaler called Seretide to control my asthma. I’m 49 next month and it was last year my GP noticed that my asthma was getting worse and changed my asthma medication to Symbicort at 200 ml. My GP as been monitoring my asthma and it’s not getting any better and from the past few years I’ve been getting really bad chest infections every other month. Went to the doctors again a month ago for an asthma review and again my asthma medication was changed to a stronger dose 400 ml. Me the nurse and the doctor are quite worried that my asthma problems is getting worse. I was told by my GP to tackle the council about the damp and mould issues as it’s most definitely taking a toll on my health. Which is ironic due that i moved into my property in December 2013 after getting medical points on my housing application for bidding. Since moving here the state of this property is impinging in mine and my sons health as we both suffer from asthma. Now I have my GP on my side all I need to do is seek legal advise as my complaints seems to be going no where
Im also in cahoot with a couple companies that can help council tenants with disrepair, mould and damp issues.
Newham Council would have to either rehouse me or try rectify the damp and mould, but the problem can not be rectified because the whole building from top to be knocked down and rebuilt. The only thing is that the council as to prioritise tenants with respiratory problems.
