The thousands strong Migrant Caravan from Honduras, which formed in this Central America country through social media as a way to organize a massive and safer migration movement to the United States, crossed Guatemala and entered Mexico in October of 2018. After first entering Guatemala, through the town of Esquipulas, where they were stopped briefly by local police forces, but later allowed to go through, and head towards the border in Mexico. In the Guatemala-Mexico border, separated by the river Suchiate, the caravan stormed the small town of Tecun Uman, and after a couple of days of being stranded on the bridge crossing the river, they entered Mexico through rafts and by swimming. In Mexico, they reunited again, and walked the mexican highways, heading north and into the United States. As they entered Mexico, the caravan was numbered in between 5 and 6 thousand people, comprised of men, women and children of all ages.
