Paradise resident Laci Ping said a prayer on the night of November 8 as she watched the yard around her go up in flames.

"Lord, pray for our house, please pray for us," she is heard saying in the clip.

Her home, which she had moved into less than a year ago, wasn't the only thing she feared she would lose. Her cat, Mason, had escaped her cage when she was moving him into the car.

"The firefighters were yelling at us, telling us we had to leave now," Ping recalled. "Leaving the cat behind was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make."

At least some of her prayers came true. Thanks to the help of volunteer and rescue crews, Ping was happily reunited with him days after at the UC Davis veterinary school. He had been picked up and was being sheltered there, where he was receiving vaccinations and being treated for his burns. This video, which has since gone viral, shows the emotional reunion.

"I shall get him back soon fully recovered! I miss him so much and can't wait to fall asleep with him in my arms!" Ping told Newsflare.
