Repair works at a paper production plant in Samut Prakan, Thailand sparked a massive 20-hour long blaze on Wednesday. The inferno has so far left US $3 million in damages.

Flames spread through the warehouse on Wednesday November 21, shortly after 5pm when workers were finishing their shifts. Over 800 people work at the plant. Around 50 workers were still at the facility when the blaze broke out.

Authorities reported that a welding machine fell from the roof during repair works, landing on paper being stored below.

Fire crew arrived at the scene shortly after but it was almost 24 hours later when they finally extinguished the blaze.

Staff were able to remove some paper rolls. The fire has left some THB100 million (3m USD) in damages, though nobody was injured.
