Villagers in India's southern state of Tamil Nadu are still recovering from the devastating effects of cyclone Gaja.

The cyclone that hit the area on November 16 left a trail of destruction in the Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Ramanathapuram, Thiruvarur, Thanjavur, Trichy, Pudukkottai, Dindigul and Puducherry of the Tamil Nadu district.

The gale winds blew hundreds of thatched-roof homes while the tiles-roof homes collapsed on each other and animals got killed.

The villages and hamlets affected are still busy fixing it back even after a week the cyclone hit the area.

In the video, the uprooted trees and blown huts are clearly visible as one of the rescue workers climb up the trees to cut it down in order to clear up the mess.

Cyclone Gaja killed at least 46 people and forced thousands to evacuate.
