A security camera in India captured the terrifying moment a car ran over a woman and her young son.

The shocking video, which was captured on November 22, shows the woman and her son strolling down a road in Dharapur in Madhya Pradesh, India.

A car approaches from behind them and the driver somehow fails to see the pair and drives straight into them.

Onlookers immediately rush to help the child and his mother and also confront the driver.

Amazingly, no-one was seriously hurt in the incident and both mother and child were described as "doing fine."

The incident was not reported to police as the driver and the mother managed to reach a private settlement.

A CCTV video footage shows a mother and a toddler making a narrow escape and escapes unhurt after being hit by a car as they take a walk on the street in the Dharmapuri town of the Dhar district in Madhya Pradesh, central India.

In the video, several people can be seen walking on the street. A woman and a child can also be seen walking on the side of a street when a car speeds from behind and runs over the duo.

As soon as the car hits the woman, she can be seen being dragged away by it as the child falls behind. The car also runs over the feet of the child while it drags the mother on the front and dumping on its front wheels.

The second CCTV footage shows the car coming to a stop with the woman falling on its front tyres.

The shocked onlookers rush to their rescue immediately on seeing the mishap unfold. The onlookers confront the driver and ask him to step out while a few others are busy checking the woman and picking up the kid.

The duo was later taken to a nearby government hospital and administered the first aid.

No police complaint was filed as both the victim and the accused sorted out the issue on a mutual agreement.

The mother and child both are doing fine as of now as there was no serious injury due to the accident.
