Six men on a fishing trip in Indonesia were surprised to catch an enormous python instead last Thursday (November 22).

The fishermen, from Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra, planned to catch fish by electrocuting the pool in the forest, but when the six friends entered the forest, one of them, named Toni, saw a huge snake crawling in the water.

Local reports estimate it could have been as long as 27ft.

When Toni spotted the python, he and his friend immediately caught it using only their hands.

They then tied the snake's mouth using the electrical wire they had planned to use to shock the fish.

After that, they immediately took the snake to the village area to decide what should be done with it so as not to disturb the community. According to Toni, he did not know what would be done to the snake.
