This is the moment a furious row broke out at a Sainsbury’s Local convenience store in London after a customer allegedly told a member of staff to “go back where you come from.”

The customer denies using such a term.

Video filmed on Tuesday (November 27) shows the charged confrontation between two members of staff at a Sainsbury’s Local store on Harrow Road in Westbourne Park and the female customer.

"You p****d me off now. You’ve been a racist to us,” says one member of staff, who doesn’t appear to be in uniform but says he has a badge, speaking to the shopper in one of the aisles of the store as other customers walk by.

“Racist?” asks the woman.

"We heard what you said to him,” the worker says. You said, ‘Go back to where you came from!’ Are you paying taxes for him?"

The woman responds: "I’m paying so much taxes you wouldn’t’ believe. Ask Her Majesty’s Customs.''

"Do you know what he said to me?” the shopper says, although exactly what the member of staff is supposed to have been said is not revealed.

"Leave the shop, madam please,” the Sainsbury’s staff member says.

Another member of staff insists: "We’re not happy to serve you. We’ve got the power not to serve anyone who has been rude to our colleague.”

"Was not the Asian at the desk not rude to me? the woman asks.

But the Sainsbury’s staffer responds: "Why are you referring to people like ‘Asian’? You come into our store (and say) go back to where you come from, that’s not very nice is it?"

But the shopper denies using any such term.

"I didn’t say that,” she says.

"Yes, you did, I heard you say it,” insists the Sainsbury’s member of staff.

The shopper, who said her father was waiting outside, then encourages the staff members to call the police.

The filmer said his instant reaction was shocking but says he does not know what sparked the altercation.

Sainsbury's told Newsflare: “We can confirm an incident took place at our Westbourne Park Local store. We do not tolerate any threatening or abusive behaviour towards our colleagues and we’re assisting police with their investigation.”
