Radio traffic with 3 rescued in Mount Carmel

14:45 hrs. On December 2nd around 1446 hours, Mount Carmel Fire Department was alerted to a working fire at 221 South Oak street in the Borough. Chief 3 advised smoke showing from side alpha and heavy fire on division 2.

Truck 2 took the address along with engine 3, while engines 1 and 2 took the rear.

Firefighters William Rovinsky, of the American Hose Fire company , and Lieutenant 3 Steve Ennis, of the Clover Hose Fire Company, pulled one female from Division 2 who was then transported to a local hospital.

A secondary search was conducted by the crew of Atlas Engine 21 resulting in the recovery of a second patient who was also transported to the local hospital for smoke inhalation.

Local Fire Chief Jack Williams Jr. said the woman was carried from the second floor where the fire is believed to be started in a quote he gave to the local paper.

The current cause of the fire is under investigation by a State Police Fire Marshall but it is not considered suspicious.
