Scientist makes 'supernatural' smoke vortex before lighting it on fire
This was the mesmerising scene as a US scientist conducted a crazy experiment creating an upside-down smoke vortex that went down in flames.
Filmed in Seal Rock, Oregon, on Sunday (December 2), the experiment shows not just a normal miniature tornado, but one that's upside down within a bubble that, when exposed to a naked flame, bursts into a gulf of colourful fire.
The filmer commented: "It's a soap bubble filled with glycerine fog and butane. I spin the air inside the large bubble and then pop the bubble film in the disk that the bubble is attached to.
"An inverted tornado forms and pulls the fog butane mix up and out the hole in the disk. It's pretty fun."
