This is my 4-year-old daughter Tzivia (I'm her mom Darcy). We are in Melbourne, FL to visit her grandparents. We were at Crane Creek Promenade Manatee Observation Area. We had just spotted some dolphins and pelicans, but the pigeons were my daughter's favorite part. "I want to be a pigeon!" she told me! Another kid was there and, without prompting, shared her bread with my daughter, so they could feed the pigeons together. The other kid was throwing pieces, but Tzivia was just being very slow and patient and waiting for pigeons to take the bread right from her hand. Sometimes adults view pigeons as not all that special. I love seeing them through my daughter's eyes: beautiful, shiny, and free. She says they're her new favorite animal.
