A group of men caught a leopard with their bare hands after it strayed into their village near Bardoli, Gujarat on December 16.

A woman spotted the one-year-old animal near her home and raised an alarm. A small group quickly assembled to catch the leopard.

They cornered the animal, threw a blanket over and managed to tie it up after overpowering it.

Forest officials rushed to the spot on getting the information and took the leopard away to release it in a nearby forest.

“Their methods were a bit unconventional, but catching a ferocious leopard without nets and tranquilisers is no joke,” said an official.
