Bolivian fans of The Strongest football club were bidding farewell to their captain Pablo Escobar when planned fireworks misfired and shot off randomly onto the pitch and into the stands.

Footage of Escobar's farewell ceremony at Hernando Siles stadium in La Paz on December 19 shows fireworks misfiring from their marks, and sporadically launching in different directions, causing crowds of fans to scatter to avoid the low flying explosions.

The video was taken after the last soccer match of Pablo Escobar, who played in the club The Strongest as captain of the team. He announced his retirement and the club together with the fans organized a farewell ceremony. During this ceremony, the fireworks went wrong and exploded on the stairs and in the field. The Strongest is one of the most important soccer clubs in La Paz and Bolivia. The match was part of the national soccer league. It was played on December 19, 2018.
