The residents of the Cuddalore district in Tamil Nadu of southern India have been living in fear after the recent flood swept in a huge number of crocodiles that entered numerous houses and took away lives across various villages in the district.

The heavy discharge of Cauvery water that caused the flood has now made crocodile sightings more popular in the Kollidam river and its adjoining rivulets.

The panicked residents have now demanded that the killer creatures be rescued and rehabilitated but the forest officials are still waiting for the water levels to recede in order to carry out the operation successfully.

Unable to curb the crocodiles in the area, the crawlers have not failed to surprise the villagers by entering inside their houses.

In a recent incident, a crocodile that entered inside a house in the Chidambaram Taluka of the Cuddalore district was captured by the villagers and driven away to the canal after the forest officials failed to show up in time.

The crocodile had entered inside one of the houses in the village after which one of the residents raised an alarm. The villagers gathered soon and informed the forest officials but they did not show up in time.

The villagers then decided to take it to the task themselves and captured it. In the video, the crocodile can be seen being dragged along by the edge of the canal as a man holds its mouth by the stick.

The man keeps dragging it until he reaches the end of the canal. He then drags it to the edge of the canal and throws it into the water.
