Pair of critically endangered Sumatran tigers born in Kinantan zoo in Indonesia
Two Sumatran tiger cubs have been born in Kinantan zoo in Bukittinggi, Indonesia.
A male and a female were born to a mother named Dara Jingga and a father named Bancah on Sunday, December 16, 2018, at 7:00 a.m local time.
The cubs are said to be in good health but are under the close supervision of a team of veterinarians.
Conservation officials are still deciding whether the new arrivals will be released into the wild to boost the population.
Sumatran tigers are listed as "critically endangered" on the IUCN Red List and there may be as few as 400 living in the wild.
